Kenyan coffee is highly sought after in both Europe and the United States, known for its sharp citrus acidity, rich body, and intense aroma. Kenyan producers place great emphasis on quality, carefully overseeing every step of processing and drying to ensure excellence. Kenya also has a unique grading system, where AA represents the largest and most premium beans within a classification of ten different
sizes. Our coffee comes from the Karindundu Factory, located in the lowland region of Mount Kenya, just 1 km from the town of Karatina in Nyeri County. After harvesting ripe coffee cherries, farmers deliver them to Karindundu, where they undergo Kenya’s traditional washed processing method. The cherries are depulped, fermented overnight, washed, and then dried until they reach optimal stability. The farm also features a demonstration plot, allowing farmers to observe and better understand these meticulous processing techniques that contribute to the distinct and vibrant flavors of Kenyan coffee.
